Bridging People and Places
One Person at a Time
How You Can Help: VOLUNTEER ~ FUNDRAISE ~ DONATE ~ GIVE a PRODUCT or SERVICE
The old adage, "many hands make light work" accurately describes our workshops. The time we spend together accomplishes a several different things. There is always a focus on one or more of our projects requiring the loving hands and effort of our volunteers. Workshops also provide a social opportunity for volunteers, as well as the time to catch up on the latest news related to Bridging People and Places and its activities.
Some examples of the activities we do are: dressing bears, making tags, tagging bears, packing bears, sweaters, and tags for various destinations, and shipping bears. We also prepare and pack urns, bereavement clothing, blankets, and other items for our perinatal loss program.
Workshops are usually held at our office; however, some of the activities may be done offsite.
Volunteers are needed for delivering bears to schools, community groups, and the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities that dress our bears.
We also need volunteers to transport bears to the organizations that receive our bears and groups that sell our bears.
Organizations and schools decorate the bags that become "Bear Dens" to carry our bears. We need volunteers to deliver bags, help with decorating, and/or pick up the completed "Bear Dens."
Volunteers are often needed to organize and lead knitting groups and to help with bear dressing and bag decorating activities in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering to help with any of these activities. We would welcome your participation.
